**BEGINNING QUILTMAKING - Suzanne
Tuesday, Jan. 19, 26, Feb. 2 & 9 9:30 a.m.-Noon
Tuesday, Jan. 19, 26, Feb. 2 & 9 6:30-9 p.m.Establish good quilting technique from the beginning. We’ll teach you the basics of rotary cutting and accurate machine piecing. Your quilt will be machine quilted and finished before you know it. Class project is a crib/lap size quilt.

A patchwork quilt is more than squares and rectangles. After completing Beginning Quiltmaking, go on to learn quilt blocks with triangles. Make sharp points and have your block be the perfect size.

Ask about additional timesThis is a required class for anyone wishing to rent our Handi-Quilter machine. An in-depth beginning workshop with a small class size, ensures lots of hands on! Learn to prepare and load your quilt on the frame, threading, tension and needles. Experiment with free motion designs, stencils, groovy boards, pantograms, plus general how to’s! Lecture/demo with hands on.
$50.00 includes supplies. Limit 3 students per class.

**PAPER PIECING (Dresses and Shirts) - Suzanne

Paper piecing makes difficult shapes easier to sew and is a technique every quilter should know. The pattern we have chosen for the class takes you from simple squares and rectangles to tiny odd angled triangles. You can make a small wall hanging or go on to make a much larger quilt.

Everyone is always so attracted to this quilt with an optical illusion of curves even though it is pieced with straight lines. 3 classes/$40.00 plus templates

The traditional method of making this quilt requires piecing curves and using two contrasting fabrics. We have an easy way of sewing these curves with Quiltsmart. 1 class/$35.00

Love the look of antique quilts from the Civil War? Want to know more about quilt history? You are invited to step back in time for an olde fashioned quilt gathering. This is a six month club making small reproduction quilts from the 1800's. Each project will feature patterns and fabric by Jo Morton that are only available to club members. Need to purchase fat quarter pack of Jo Morton fabric for $64.50

Need some motivation, instruction, & fellowship to complete your block of the month projects? Bring your quilting tools and join us each month working on one of our featured Block of the Month projects for this year (Civil War Tribute, American Beauty, Thimbleberries Village Green, or Kaleidoscope of Kolor). $5.00 per class
A professional machine that cuts quilt shapes. It quickly and easily cuts up to 10 layers of fabric at a time. No more aching hands, inaccurate cuts or wasting fabric. Come join our club and schedule your own personal time on the machine to cut your next quilt. No meetings to attend. Collect your scraps and make your own charm squares and jelly rolls. Membership is $30.00 for 6 sessions at 2 hours each. We will be adding to our collection of dies over the next year and you will have input in what we order next.
Saturday Sampler 2010
Registration information for 2010 Saturday Sampler
SATURDAY SAMPLER REGISTRATION FORM
Each month Suzanne will demo a sampler block and share with you all the latest news in quilting. Attend the class and go home and make your block. Next month come to Saturday Sampler with your completed block and your next block kit is FREE!!! Yes, by the end of 12 months you could possibly have all 12 quilt blocks made for only $6.00. If you miss a month attending or do not do your homework you will be charged $6.00. Three color ways (Black & White, Batik or Crayon Box) to choose from. Optional Shivery Snowman appliqued Block of the Month for $6.00 each month. You may sign up for more than one color way but only one color way will offer the Free block each month if you attend class and complete previous block.
Saturday Sampler will be held the second Saturday of each month and starts February 13, 2010 Choose to attend 9:30 a.m. or 10:30 a.m. session.

Registration for 2010 starts December 1, 2009.
Class Policies
- To reserve your spot in class, register in person, phone or by mail with check, cash or credit card (Visa, Discover, Master Card) . Store credit will be given if you cancel (7 days prior to class) If there is not sufficient enrollment you will be given a store refund or credit. We reserve the right to cancel a class if there is not a minimum of 4 students.
- Supplies need to be purchased from Suzanne's prior to class. Supply list will be available at registration. Our expertise in color coordinating fabric and selecting proper tools is part of your lesson before class starts. We recommend 100% cotton fabric that must be washed before class.
- Patterns, books and handouts cannot be shared or photo-copied because of copyright laws. Let's help to keep these talented and creative designers in business.
- Classes missed may be made up in another time slot when space is available. Please let us know when you will be taking a makeup class so that we can insure you a seat.
- Children and guests are not welcome in class. Please be courteous and think of your fellow classmates.
