Establish good quilting technique from the beginning. We’ll teach you the basics of rotary cutting and accurate machine piecing. Your quilt will be machine quilted and finished before you know it. Class project is a crib/lap size quilt. 4 classes/$45.00 plus book

A patchwork quilt is more than squares and rectangles. After completing Beginning Quiltmaking, go on to learn quilt blocks with triangles. Make sharp points and have your block be the perfect size. 4 classes $45.00 (same book as beginners)

Hexagon shapes were popular in Grandma's day and now are popular again. Learn to sew them together by hand, the traditional English method. Suzanne will review various techniques and share her antique hexagon quilts.

This is a required class for anyone wishing to rent our Handi-Quilter machine. An in-depth beginning workshop with a small class size, ensures lots of hands on learning! Learn to prepare and load your quilt on the frame, threading, tension and needles. Experiment with free motion designs, stencils, groovy boards, pantograms, plus general how to’s! Lecture/demo with hands on learning. $50.00 includes supplies. Limit 3 students per class.

We are happy to have Debi Gower from Ohio, visit us once again! Debi specializes in drawing quilting designs and machine quilting. For you working gals, the classes are on Saturday and Sunday this time.
In addition, Debi will teach a class on color. We know this will be popular, so you have 2 class dates to choose from (Friday or Saturday).

FREE FORM FANCY
Saturday, February 2 9:30-4 p.m.
If you are tired of spending hours marking your quilts, join Debi for a fun day learning free form quilt design with little or no marking. You will learn seeral designs for borders, sashin and background fills. Discover beautiful feather designs, circles, rocks, daisychain, leaves, pumpkin seed, paisleys and more. In this class, you will create the designs on sketch pads, and then practice at the sewing machine at home with your new found confidence of free form quilting. By the end of the day, you will be able to create your own personal designs to apply to your next quilt project. $65.00 includes lunch.

FREE FORM WHOLECLOTH SAMPLER
Sunday, February 3 9:30-4 p.m.
Spend the day learning the basics of creating a whole cloth quilt. Using free form design techniques, you will stitch a 16" sampler that can be finished as a wallhanging or a pillow. Tips will be given to improve your free motion finishing skills. $65.00 includes lunch.

COLOR - THE VALUE OF SISTERS

Have you ever taken a class or read a book about color and came away as confused as when you started? This class can help you take the mystery out of choosing colors for your quilts by letting value do the work. Assembling small squares of fabric into a Sister's Choice block will help you see values between colors and textures that will become an instrumental tool in ways you might not have imagined before.
Kit fee, $15.00 Class $65.00 includes lunch.

Join us monthly as we read letters from 1920's farmwives and make the 111 six-inch sampler quilt blocks they inspired. Use your choice of fabrics to machine or hand piece this wonderful quilt. Enjoy the fellowship of other quilters and a monthly commitment to sewing this quilt. Special handouts and instructions not featured in the book will be given.


Saturday Sampler 2013 - Bountiful Baskets

Sign up for our Saturday Sampler series for $7.00.Each month Suzanne will demo a sampler block and share with you all the latest news in quilting. Attend the class and go home and make your block. Next month come to Saturday Sampler with your completed block and your next block kit is FREE!!! Yes, by the end of 12 months you could possibly have all 12 quilt blocks made for only $7.00. If you miss a month attending or do not do your homework you will be charged $7.00. Three color ways (Civil War, Batiks or 1930'sproductions) to choose from. You may sign up for more than one color way but only one color way will offer the Free block each month if you attend class and complete previous block. Sign up deadline February 1, 2013.

Saturday Sampler continues the second Saturday of each month (See exceptions*).  Choose to attend 9:30 a.m. or 10:30 a.m. session.

Class Policies

  • To reserve your spot in class, register in person, phone or by mail with check, cash or credit card (Visa, Discover, Master Card & American Express) . Store credit will be given if you cancel (7 days prior to class) If there is not sufficient enrollment you will be given a store refund or credit. We reserve the right to cancel a class if there is not a minimum of 4 students. 

  • Supplies need to be purchased from Suzanne's prior to class. Supply list will be available at registration. Our expertise in color coordinating fabric and selecting proper tools is part of your lesson before class starts. We recommend 100% cotton fabric that must be washed before class.

  • Patterns, books and handouts cannot be shared or photo-copied because of copyright laws. Let's help to keep these talented and creative designers in business.

  • Classes missed may be made up in another time slot when space is available. Please let us know when you will be taking a makeup class so that we can insure you a seat.

  • Children and guests are not welcome in class. Please be courteous and think of your fellow classmates and put cell phones on vibrate.
