Suzanne's Blog

When you gaze upon an antique quilt, wouldn't you love to know more about the quilt's history? That will be true of our quilts one day when they pass on to the next generation. Take time to document your project.

A simple label can be made with a piece of muslin and a permanent fabric pen. Iron a piece of freezer paper to the back of the muslin to make it easier to write on. I like to use a fine tip Pigma Pen for writing.

If you would like to be more creative, a hand or machine embroidery label is wonderful. Are you computer savvy? Use your computer and design a label in a program like Publisher using some of the clip art available and typing in the words. Then print on Photo Transfer paper with an ink jet printer. Follow the directions with the photo transfer paper for making the ink permanent. Then stitch the label on your quilt.
