Suzanne's Blog

A stilleto is a very useful tool in quilting. It's not a heel; it's a small metal rod with a sharp pointed end. The stilleto does everything a seam ripper does, but with greater ease. Use it to stab fabric pieces that are trying to slide apart until you can hold them fast with your presser foot

A stilleto will also fetch the bobbin thread loop from under the presser foot, and it will ease excess fabric bulk into seams. Rub the stilleto across the top of the fabric toward the foot and needle while sewing. The extra fabric will be taken up with no puckers.
