Civil War Tribute Quilt
Designed to honor the upcoming 150th anniversary of the American Civil War in 2011. The Civil War Tribute quilt highlights a variety of saw tooth and star blocks and will showcase Judie Rothermel's newest collection of Civil War fabrics from Marcus Brothers. Each of the quilt blocks represents a major battle fought during the war. In addition to detailed rotary cutting and machine piecing instructions, each pattern also includes historical references about the corresponding battle and how it affected the lives of those left at home. Suzanne's Tip of the Week - What We All Need - Time Management

Here is a tip from a gal who finishes more quilts each year by hand than most of us do on the sewing machine. She has "machine-a-phobia". Her friends are always so envious at what she accompishes.She does beautiful applique and embroidery quilts and hand quilts them all. You know that takes time.
Plan your sewing projects on your calendar. If you like to have different projects going, set aside a day for each projects. Who says you have to work on one project at a time till it is finished? Each day of the week my friend has a different project assigned. Tuesdays might be a cat quilt and Thursdays might be a Christmas quilt. Saturday might be the day she shops for more quilting supplies and washes her fabric. Projects are boxed up and ready to go when waiting for appointments or traveling. Organized? You bet!
A calendar will also help you remember when the project was started and finished. That helps when you make that label or people ask how long have you been working on that.
Plan your work and work your plan.
