American Patchwork and Quilting magazine has issued a challenge for 2010. They want us to join them to Make a Pillowcase, Make a Difference. A pillowcase can provide comfort for a cancer patient, hope for a foster child, encouragement for a battered woman, or beauty for a nursing home resident.

Saturday, May 15 from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Grab your best friends, bring your sewing machines and join in the fun! We'll show you a quick and easy way to sew a pillowcase so you can make a whole stack of them in no time. All the pillowcases we make will be donated to a charity organization and registered on the One Million Pillowcase Challenge Official Counter. Every pillowcase can make a difference, so please come join us!

Block of the Month

Starts June 15

Join us for this year-long series making 4" miniature quilt blocks. Each month you will receive a pattern and fabric for 8 blocks. Also included will be directions and fabric for the setting blocks, border and binding. Finished quilt measures 62" x 70". Fabric will be 1930's. Sign up fee is $25.00 plus $14.95 each month. This is a required class for anyone wishing to rent our Handi-Quilter machine. An in-depth beginning workshop with a small class size, ensures lots of hands on! Learn to prepare and load your quilt on the frame, threading, tension and needles. Experiment with free motion designs, stencils, groovy boards, pantograms, plus general how to’s! Lecture/demo with hands on. $50.00 includes supplies. Limit 3 students per class.
