Establish good quilting technique from the beginning. We’ll teach you the basics of rotary cutting and accurate machine piecing. Your quilt will be machine quilted and finished before you know it. Class project is a crib/lap size quilt.

Saturday, August 15 1-5 p.m.
This is a required class for anyone wishing to rent our Handi-Quilter machine. An in-depth beginning workshop with a small class size, ensures lots of hands on! Learn to prepare and load your quilt on the frame, threading, tension and needles. Experiment with free motion designs, stencils, groovy boards, pantograms plus general how to’s! Lecture/demo with hands on. $50.00 includes supplies. Limit 3 students. |

Monday, August 31 9 a.m.-Noon.
Paper piecing makes difficult shapes easier to sew and is a technique every quilter should know. The pattern we have chosen for the class takes you from simple squares and rectangles to tiny odd angled triangles. You can make a small wall hanging or go on to make a much larger quilt.

Suzanne's Tip of the Week - Ironing a Quilt
 |
Ironing a large quilt top and backing can be a bit awkward. Try putting your iron on an extension cord and place two ironing boards end to end.
Mary Ellen's Best Press is great for pressing your fabrics. It is the clear starch alternative. It leaves no residue or flaky build up and it smells wonderful. Choose from Lavender Fields, Citrus Grove, Caribbean Beach, Cherry Blossom and Scent Free.
